This homemade hummus recipe is so easy & delicious!

And you can make it your own by adding additional flavors like cilantro, chili peper flakes or sundried tomatoes.

Homemade Hummus Recipe

Yields about 3 ½ – 4 cups of hummus


  • 2 cans of garbanzo beans (15 oz), 1 drained, 1 undrained
  • 4 tablespoons of raw sesame seeds
  • 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 3-6 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon cumin

Optional add-ins:

  • Cilantro
  • Parsley
  • Chili pepper flakes
  • Sundried tomatoes
  • More lemon!


Place all ingredients into VitaMix or blender.

Blend together until smooth.

Yes, it’s that easy.

I like to put it in the fridge for 30 minutes before serving.

Lasts up to 4 days in the fridge!
